In 2018 Auditorio de Tenerife’s resident contemporary dance company -Lava- was established with the aim of building a new repertoire with creators of international scope. Its current artistic director is Tenerife dancer Daniel Abreu (Premio Nacional de Danza 2014).
Six dancers with a strong presence on the stage, technically sound and versatile will bring the creations to life. The different choreographies will share a contemporary dance language and other codes of today’s artistic discourse. Physicality, poetry and commitment.
The company is now busy creating an interesting, exclusive and original top-quality repertoire perfectly put together. Their aim is to enrichen and accompany the curiosity of an existing wide audience while drawing new spectators through the experience of dance and its context.
Lava is the artistic creative side of Tenerife Danza, which is part of the Cabildo’s Instituto de Artes Escénicas [Performing Arts Institute], within the Tenerife 2030 scheme.
